Continue reading →Since March 2013 Les and Gerry have had the following examination successes. Starting in March, Andrew Fisher passed his Foundation Exam on the 10th. On the 30th June Chris Thatcher and Stan Parker passed their Intermediate Exam and on the 6th October Lorna Gregory passed her Foundation Exam. More recently, on the 17th November Guy Howe and Alan Arnold passed their Foundation Exam; Alan is keen to go on to the Intermediate Course as soon as one is arranged.

Continue reading →A few months ago I was asked if members of the Lincoln Short Wave Club could help form a working party with other regular users of the Village Hall to spread gravel on the car park. True to LSWC form a working party was arranged and by Saturday 26th October 11 tons of gravel had been delivered ready to spread. Fifteen of our members turned out to help (average age I believe a few years over 60, it was young David who brought it down to that level!!!) together with Steve and Chris from the Village Hall Committee. We arrived at the Institution of Engineering and Technology just after 11 a.m. after climbing 193 steps to get out of Covent Garden underground, apparently that is equivalent to 15 storeys, for the 86 Annual General Meeting of the RSGB. The AGM was over quite quickly and was followed by the presentation of the various awards the RSGB Club of the Year being the last to be presented.
