* How I ventured into microwavesHow I ventured into microwaves

Time: 7:30 pm

RSGB board member Mark Jones G0MGX will be coming to the club on July 3rd (7.30pm village hall) to give a talk on how he ventured into microwaves as a complete beginner. The talk will focus on 10GHz narrowband portable and working the new Es’Hail 2 geostationary satellite. There is a considerable amount of interest in Es’Hail 2 in particular as it gives the user the opportunity to work from Brazil to Thailand, and with the current poor conditions on HF many stations are now giving this mode of operation a go. This will be more than a powerpoint presentation, Mark will be bringing along some of his station! If the weather is OK, we may even try for a few contacts! (Mark was formerly AROS co-ordinator and came to the club last year to give a talk).
