Fir Park Show 2019 GB5FPS

On the weekend of the 8th & 9th June the LSWC were once again at Fir Park for the Fir Park Show 2019. Using the call sign GB5FPS we were active on the usual HF and VHF / UHF bands. The weather reports this time were not the most favourable but we pressed on getting all the kit ready on the Wednesday before. The kit was collected from the shack on the Friday by Les, G1LQB, and taken over to Fir Park. Special Event Stations This Week & More

Lincoln Shortwave Club have a number of special event stations over the next week. This Week On Saturday 11th May the club is putting on a Special Event Station at Ellis Mill GB5EM for Mills on the Air; setting up from 0900 hours.  Ellis Mill is on Mill Road, Lincoln, LN1 3JJ. On Thursday/Friday 16th/17th May GB5DAM – Dambusters Memorial Station will be on air from the shack; operating will commence at 2120 and if there are enough operators will go through the night until 12 noon on the Friday. GB5FPS Fir Park June 2018

GB5FPS at Fir Park. LSWC put on a special event station, GB5FPS, at Fir Park during the weekend of 9th/10th June. The setup of two Fan Dipole antennas and Verticals allowed use of a wide range of bands from 160m through to 70cm’s. Numerous contacts were made over the two days both on HF, SSB and CW and on VHF/UHF FM. A number of satellite contacts were also made using 2m’s (Downlink) and 70cm’s (Uplink) simultaneously.
